What To Bring Camping

Mark all items with name and den number!
Very important:
___ Signed Personal Health and Medical Record form (one per person!)
Sleeping:
___

Tent + ground cloth (make sure it will hold the number in your family, but no more;
the giant tents take a while to set up and are hard to dry out at home if it rains!)
___

Sleeping bag (appropriate to the season;
blankets and sheets from home will work, but the basic bags are not too expensive)
___ Sleeping clothes (don't sleep in the same clothes you wore all day!)
___ Cot (optional) or light-weight sleeping pad or air mattress
___ Pillow and case (optional)
Clothing:
___ Cub Scout uniform
___ Sturdy shoes (don't even think about bringing anything with open toes!)
___ Change of clothes (socks, underwear, shorts/pants, T-shirt/long sleeve shirt)
___ Sweater or jacket, gloves or mittens, warm cap (as required by weather)
___ Hat (wide brim, to keep the sun off your face and neck)
Personal Gear:
___

Battery-powered headlamp/flashlight w/ extra batteries
(Absolutely no flames -- or propane lanterns -- in tents!)
___ Cub Scout Handbook
___ Personal first aid kit (medications, band aids)
___ Rain gear
___ Toiletries (comb, toothbrush/paste, soap, deodorant, etc. -- minimum amount!)
___ Sunscreen (this is Texas!)
___ Insect repellent (this is the Texas woods!)
___ Day pack (optional)
___ Fishing gear (optional)
___ Lawn/camp chairs (optional)
___ Sunglasses (optional)
Eating and Drinking:
___

Food (don't forget snacks for kids!) stored in cooler of ice with locking lid
(the critters have amazing sniffers!)
___ Plate, cup, knife, fork, spoon
___ Water and other drinks in plastic (not glass!) bottles
___ Zip-lock bags, trash bags
Leave at Home:
  X   Alcohol, tobacco, etc.
X   DVD players, Game Boys, televisions, etc.
  X   Firearms, ammunition, archery equipment
  X   Fireworks
  X   Hunting and sheath knives
X   Liquid-fuel stoves, heaters, lanterns, etc.
